<Saif> In general he tells the party he has talked with Nikki, he knows what she has and that the party should trust him to decide what she should and shouldn't have. He does have several items from Nikki he thinks should be open to the party. He also doesn't want the party to push this any further.

<Saif> Thengal - the group found out that Nikki has been keeping magic items for herself. They confronted her about it last chat session. Cast suggested it wait until the party got home.

<Diana> well, isnt that comforting.

<Saif> Which completly changes the situation and goes beyond his instructions to me. I'm not sure how he would handle it.

<Saif> I think e-mail will be the way to go with this. That will give people time to think about what they want to say. HOwever, please be sure to clearly differentiate between IC and OOC, and the solution should be reached IC in some manner.

<Saif> * Also this group can decide on the time to spend, that way you can all plan out your character's actions this weekend and into next week.

<Kat> So, how do you want it to be a group decision for the potion?

<Diana> i would like some kind of discussion on it, rather than just pouring it on the ground unilaterally.

<Diana> even if thats what is decided in the end. i would prefer a discussion.

<Saif> Hum, that's something else I don't know how Sane would react, although I believe he would want it for it's potential in the future. But again, I don't know for sure. You can discuss the general principle and let him chime in later.

<Thengal> I understand your thinking on this, but the appilication of that potion can be for non-evil purposes. I noticed Castinar a nd others mentioned some of them in the chat log

<Diana> in any event, I was hoping for some consensus on not taking actions that affect the whole group with out consulting the group as a whole.

<Kat> Trading a potion to a good dragon that can control the good dragon, one's motives are in question.

<Nikki> t: i dont recall specifics but there was some odd stuff like what if a good dragon is controlled by some other evil force and we need to uncontrol it... thats pretty whacky.

<Kat> Well, Dispel Magic might work better than the potion.

<Kat> "Well, since you did not act before, the group lost about 20,000gp in gems. You trusted the party leader's decision and did not question any one involved. So, why do you not trust the party leader now?"

* Saif glances at Castinar, who casually nods back and looks very much like Castinar

<Diana> "Because now it has been shown that people in this party will lie. Until now, I trusted. Now that trust is broken, and now I question."

<Kat> "What you mean now? It's been that way before Sane was party leader. I have seen that. You haven't? So, the other issues weren't about trust? They were poor leader decision?"

<Diana> "Im glad you have seen it Kat. I perhaps was too trusting. You can be sure I wont be that naive again."

<Kat> "If you are standing on trust, why didn't you team up with Castinar, and demand that Nikki return the rock?"

<Diana> "I have nothing against destroying the potion. What I asked is that the party be consulted before it was destoryed, in case someone had a constructive use for it, like as a spell component or research item."

<Kat> "That is not what I thought you said before."

<Diana> "Then you did not listen carefully to what I said."

<Kat> "I still feel the potion should be destroyed."

<Kat> "No spell research is worth the risk of having that potion stolen."

* Nikki looks up at that but says nothing. <g>

<Kat> "Well, research related to using the potion."

<Thengal> Kat, if it were a potion of evil dragon control, would you be making this same argument??

<Diana> "Perhaps. Being a mage, Im sure you know that. But I think I might be able to research a spell that would _break_ such control, on all of us or any one of us. Would that be worth looking into?"

<Nikki> t: they're evil and deserve death, control is no problem.

* Kat looks at Thengal, "I thought about that too. And, I think I might. Yet, I don't know."

* Saif really wishes he had a character in this game - he'd be having fun with this one <G>

<Kat> "So, the potion of good dragon control would help you figure out how to break control of humaniods?"

<Diana> "Control in general, I hope. I do not know for certain without study of course."

<Kat> *damn it. So mage speak up and tell her she is full of it.

<Diana> * i might not be tho kat.

<Kat> "So, any potion of control could help you?"

<Diana> * i really do think I could research something like that, but i left the proposal for later, if we decided it was worth it.

<Diana> "Yes, in all likelyhood any potion of control would help."

<Kat> "Why not purchase a potion of control spiders from the mages' guild and destroy this one?"

<Diana> "Does the guild have such a potion for sale?"

* Amber give a tiny shudder and sips more tea.

<Kat> "They might. Yet, when do you think you would do your research on this?"

<Kat> "Would the potion be destroyed during your research?"

<Diana> "Very likely the potion would be consumed during the research."

<Diana> "When is up to the party, and how long we wish to remain in Jurgenville."

<Kat> "So, if we stayed here, how long would you need to research that? Is there something else you would rather research?"

<Nikki> * Nikki's pseudo-henchman is an alchemist, which y'all would probably be aware of.

<Diana> * diana is also an alchemist

<Diana> "It varies of course. 3 weeks, if everything goes well. Longer if things do not."

<Nikki> * No no, I mean he's an Alchemist.

<Saif> * he's a specialist alchemist - only uses alchemy to reproduce spell effects

<Diana> * oh ,specialty mage right.

<Saif> <nod>

<Nikki> * But it would be reasonable to think he might know if what Diana is saying is possible or likely?

<Kat> "Did you want to spend time to research this? What would you hope to discover from this potion?"

<Diana> "I told you, a way to keep that story Matar told me from happening again, where an evil cleric controls one of us and commands them to attack the rest of us."

<Nikki> "I think lightning is the answer to that."

<Kat> "What story? I didn't know that Matar and you spend time together." Kat gives a little grin.

<Saif> * yes, he would probably say it is possible to extract some substances which might yield insights into what types of substances you have to gather to create a potion of good dragon control - some of which might apply to general control as well. But he doubts if Diana has the expertise to do that <sniff>

* Thengal chuckles at the mages last comment

* Nikki smiles at Thengal.

<Diana> * wasnt hoping to make potions, was hoping to get a boost on researching an anti charm/control spell.

<Diana> * but that would be proposal based anyway, which might not be possible.

* Nikki will send for Lurch to get his opinion on the matter.

<Nikki> * Maybe. <g>

<Diana> "In any event, I only point all this out as an example of a construtive use. I certainly feel the potion itself is vile, and if the group decides we should destroy it, I will happily agree."

<Saif> * he is, but the DM is busy running up and down stairs getting stuff for Jamie

<Kat> "So, right now, you don't care one way or the other about what to do with the potion?"

<Diana> "I feel that we should destroy it, either constructively in a research attempt, or merely to keep it out of the hands of evil doers."

<Kat> "Good. If something else can be used for your research, and we can get it, I think we should get it and destroy the potion."

<Diana> "If Sane and the others agree, I will consider the matter settled."

<Saif> Sane considers the situation and promises to get back with you later

<Nikki> * ya know traditionally, potions of control are made from bits of the thing to be controlled.

<Saif> yes, or attract a cleric to help the guards

<Saif> I don't think Mogo knows how to use a mace. H'es a C/T

<Saif> She went away to serve at a temple. the temple ws attacked, which is what drew Sigurd away from the party.
