<Saif> On the XP thing I'll have to look at the tables a bit more, but in one way or another your 3e experience will be based on your current XP levels

<Saif> Kat - I'm still not familiar enough with the rules to say one way or the other. In general stick with what is in the book. I don't want to have to make a whole bunch of exceptions. i still have to read through the prestige class in the DMG since I suspect most of you will want to use it somehow.

<Saif> I'd kind of like to have several people submit their proposals so I can review them all at once and get an idea for what is and isn't working, and how to keep things balanced.

<Saif> most of them don't have normal casting times any longer - they just take a normal action

<Saif> Also 3e doesn't have spell points, but we'll continue to use them.

<Saif> Remember, her past is being captured and tortured by drow (tongue cut out, ears clipped, etc.), so she's real paranoid about wandering around down here without Cast nearby

<Saif> So are you guys going to heal Dac back up to positive HPs? He's unconscious now.

<Saif> Standarding underdark adventuring fare. You don't learn anything specific. But you do see that they knew what equipment to purchase, and they have high-quality stuff as well. Most of it seems to come from the area around the inner sea, mostly Cormyr and Sembia, with a good dose of gear from Tantras.

<Saif> Yes... let me check...

<Kat> About how many days of rations?

<Saif> Fara has a nice looking neckchain (appox value 1k), 200 pp and 500 gp in a belt pouch

<Saif> Umlith has 50 pp in a pouch and several small platinum pins and fetishes worth about 1000 gp

<Saif> Thump has a small pouch with 14 cp, 12 sp, 4 gp, and 7 pp

<Nikki> whats in the spellbooks?

<Saif> Dac has two belt pouches with about 50 gp each in them and 4 platinum trade-bars in his pack, each worth 100 pp

<Saif> Actually if David and Paul both want to do up new characters, and Paul wants a spellcasters, that would work well. Kat is a support person. The party will miss her bow support, but since she was kind of a jack-of-many-trades David has a lot of flexibility on what he can do

<Sane> Sane will cast Blindness on Dac. Sane will then make sure Dac is firmly gagged. <Amber, someone, revive him. We do not want him to die on us...yet.>

<Saif> * Well, Nikki is smoking little still, but I don't know if she is necessarily fuming

<Nikki> * you know... all our captives tend to end up dead anyway... why not get to it and be done with it?

* Ari gets out of her hot bath, reconsiders and sits back down again.

<Amber> "I believe he won't die, just needs a swift kick..err, small healing. I'm not about to use my last potion on him?"

* Kat will be scouting about the area. Watching for bad guys heading our way.

* Nikki reaches down Saif's throat and pulls out a kidney!

* Saif winces, then grows a new kidney

<Ari> K'harn is wacthing over Dac. Large form.

<Amber> "I will use it on party member if need be though."

<Nikki> * Ari is still gone isn't she?

<Saif> Dac is still unconscious, now blinded, gagged, and tied up

<Kat> *Being a mage and not a cleric, Nikki pulls out his black heart instead.

<Nikki> "Why are we wasting time with this trash >kicks Dac< while Ari is out there somewhere?!"

<Saif> Dac moans a little

<Nikki> "Then revive him, question him, kill him and let's move on."

<Amber> "Only if I get some rest and pray for more healing. Doubt my healing/herbal skills will help.

<Saif> Dac's skin is still blackened and cracked along the left side. The front of his shirt is covered in blood under the arrow-hole from Kat's arrow.

* Nikki kicks Dac again.

* Nikki FUMES!

<Nikki> *Ya, he should be nekkid.

<Saif> He's naked? Missed that.

<Amber> "Nickky stop that! We need information.

<Kat> yes, he is naked

<Amber> "Do you want me to waste my last potion on him?

<Kat> *If the healers think he needs a blanket to stay alive, he will have one.

<Saif> so, you've got a 24 hour wait for Matar, Castinar, and Diana

* Nikki paces for a bit and settles down at the edge of the camp

<Saif> During that time Amber could heal up Dac and do a little extra on the others.

<Kat> *Can't Matar's healing powers heal him?

<Saif> * what healing powers?

<Amber> Okay, she will do so to the best of her abilities and the grace of Tymora.

<Kat> *I thought he knew something about herbs and healing

<Nikki> * Saif, I'm still down 1 hp. I'd like to do 1 last polymroph to recover that hp now that we're just sitting around.

<Saif> Then the real healing/recovery will start.

<Saif> Nikki - you can do that after you have rested.

<Sane> So, is Dac conscious?

<Saif> * Kat, he does, but I've dropped half a dozen hints over the past few weeks asking if anybody was going to do anything about the healing, he didn't reply, so he has forgotten about those herbs for the moment (unless he shows up and is reminded)

<Nikki> * I've recovered 18 hps with polymorph. we'd agreed i can do my max hps total/per day

<Nikki> * got 5 left

<Nikki> * unless i did the math wrong

<Sane> *it's not a polymorph spell; it's a heal self spell

* Kat will remind him now

<Nikki> * to be honest, that was a big reason for taking it

<Saif> Max hp/day? No, just the max possible, which was 12, and that only when you released the spell. You will have to remomorize it to cast it again and start shifting again.

<Nikki> uh

<Saif> That's the way the spell works - you cast it and it keeps on working until you let go if it, then you have to re-memorize it and cast it again (normally you only do this to change the persistant spell).

<Saif> Kat - nope, George's job, he forgot, the party has to wait the full 24 hours.

<Sane> So, is Dac conscious?

<Saif> Nikki - the thing we did with Mirror Image with all the re-casting of the spell was specific to that spell and not the way persistant spells are supposed to work.

<Saif> Sane - yes, Dac is conscious now. When he comes around he calls out for his "buttercup" and then realizes he is naked.

<Nikki> well ill see what i can find in my mail about it

<Saif> "Oh dear, how unbecoming of a gentleman"

<Sane> <I suppose I should tell you a few things. The rest of your party is dead. You are far from the underdark now.> Sane taps a foot talon on the wood floor. <See? Not cave at all.> <It is not dark; you are blind. So you will remain until I decide otherwise. You are only alive for one reason. You have information we need. If you devulge it, perhaps we will let you live. If you make it easy.>

<Amber> "Your buttercup has turned to bitter lemon." Amber says with a frown as she looks down at hm.

<Saif> Dac looks around " Who's there? Is that you, birdman? Ah, pardon me, it was Sane, no?"

<Sane> *he's gagged

<Saif> Dac looks around "Um ume? Im ham um, urmam? Aa, amom mo, im oum Ame, o?"

* Dac nods

* Dac shakes his head and smiles

* Dac pushes at the gag with his shoulder. "Um um!"

<Ari> K'harn leans over and breaths hot cat breath in Dac's face.

* Dac leans his head back and closes his eyes

* Sane draws out a dagger.

<Kat> *damn, should have checked for that poison in the tooth

* Sane places the cold steel against Dac's throat. <You need to start answering.>

<Sane> *no reaction from Dac?

* Dac gestures with his shoulder at his gag

* Sane backhands Dac hard across his gagged mouth.

* Kat comes back for scouting around and sees Sane questioning Dac. "Sane, just kill him now. We can question him after he is dead."

* Dac runs his head around in a circle (unkinking neck) then gestures at the gag again

<Amber> "Kat, perhaps you should help Sane. Have a dagger next to his mouth f the gag is removed. He seems to want it out. Be fast so he doesn't spellcast. is that all right Sane?" Amber asks.

* Dac looks in the direction of Kat's voice, smiles, shakes his head, and chuckles slightly. "Um am um rim"

* Nikki is prepared to cast a MM if anything funny happens

<Sane> *Kat, you do the dagger thing?

* Kat will use claws on Dac's throat.

* Sane takes down Dac's gag.

* Dac tenses slightly when Kat's claws touch him, but he quickly relaxes

<Dac> When the gag is out Dac, works his mouth around a little bit. He looks over in the direction of where Amber's voice was last heard. "Dawlin', you do still care for me!"

<Kat> "Sane, let me kill him."

<Amber> rasberry sound and a frown.

<Dac> Then he looks straight again. "My, but y'all are a paranoid bunch, ain't ye? Blind, bound, almost dead, and you still insist on gagging me."

* Dac coughs slightly.

<Nikki> "Why is this pest still alive? Remind me please."

<Amber> We know there are ways of spellcasting with words only..better to be safe than sorry."

<Dac> "Speakin' of being almost dead, can I get a drink? I have a feelin' you're gonna want me talkin' a fair bit. Need to wet my throat, if ye don't mind."

<Kat> "I've killed elves, halflings, gnomes, humans, and trolkins. He can be my first half-elf. Just give the word."

* Dac smiles and looks around

<Amber> Amber turns her back so she doesn't see her healing undone, though she does want to watch a bit...

* Dac looks over in Kat's direction. "Somebody once told me that Character is what you do in the dark. Is this the way the vaunted Truth Seekers are in the dark? Killing elves, halflings, and gnomes? Ah, such a disappointment to the kiddies, I'm sure."

<Amber> Ambers teeth grind.

* Dac shrugs and looks in Sane's direction. "The way I figure it, I'm already dead, so why not have some fun on the way out? Unless, of course, you are willing to strike some kind of deal? You did mention something earlier about my life for some information?"

* Dac shakes his head. "I'm a gamblin' man, but those are odds I'm not willin' to take. 'Come play at our table. We'll explain the rules after you play your hand'. Nope. Not good odds for old Dac at all."

* Amber still listening, "We are out. you were unconcious a long time.

* Dac sniffs the air and moves his head around a bit, then shrugs

<Amber> *with all of us in hre there is no way he could smell the underground stuff. <g>

<Dac> "Now, that's not very civilized of you, Sane! A gentleman's agreement is all we need. I tell you what I know, you agree to let me go. Simple, easy."

<Dac> Dac's expression drops. "Humanity? You speak to me of humanity?" He chuckles, a very cold sound.

<Nikki> * We need Tharg here to interrogate him.

<Dac> At Sane's next argument he actually bursts out laughing. "Would it do me any good with the gods if I helped you?" He laughs hard. "Oh, Sane, I didn't think you were quite that innocent. Oh no, the... beings I worship would most definately not be pleased if I were to help you out."

<Nikki> "Why are you talking to it? The vile creature obviously only understands self preservation."

* Dac cocks his head to the side. "Not that I necessarily "worship" them, but let's just say I know where my path leads after this life."

* Dac looks towards Nikki "Is there any greater goal? Some fools believe so. I have leared that... well, that they are fools."

* Kat will crush his throat.

<Dac> So you kill him?

<Amber> *has enough time gone by that Amber could have memorized Charm Person? She'd try it on Dac if she had. turn about is fair play. Get him to answer better..maybe.

<Kat> yes, this evil and dangerous creature must die

<Kat> yes, this creature would not survive in the underdark if we left it out, unless he is a demon

<Dac> When Kat crushes his throat Dac smiles. His eyes go wide and you see that they are red. Then he slumps to the side, dead.

<Nikki> oh well

<Nikki> i was going to oh nevermind

<Sane> *oh well?!!

-> *Ari* well, there goes any clue they might have gotten to your fate

<Nikki> well he understood self preservation

<Amber> Amber turns back around. And begins saying a prayer for the dead.

<Sane> *you were the one who kept screaming for blood

<Nikki> no i was the one "talking" about it.

<Nikki> like i said at the start, all our prisoners always end up dead anyway.

<Kat> He's dead now and there isn't anything you can do.

* Kat will clean herself off and go back on guard, since we don't have enough people on guard.

<Saif> * You need at least some kind of corpse or body - dust is a little too far

<Kat> *Saif, what is this, eyes go red thing?

<Kat> *Did Dac die in some strange way?

<Amber> probbly possessed or something.

<Sane> *I don't think it means he's going to the same place as Beleg.

<Saif> Kind of a red glow in them, like when you shine lights in a cat's eyes - they glowed red for a moment then faded away as he died

<Nikki> i just had this odd memory of a live chat gaming buddy who at this point would scream out, "skull fuck the corpse! skull fuck it!" sorry... thought I'd share that. <g>

* Kat will comment, "What was up this his eyes, Nikki? Any ideas?"

<Saif> * Yes, Diana can cast spells once she's up and around

<Nikki> * Dunno... Saif, any of my NWP's or general knowledge yield an explanation of the eyes? Demons? Possession of some sort?

<Saif> Nikki has heard of spellcasters who gain their spells through unholy associations with demons or devils from the lower planes
