A letter home
"Dear Da & Mother and the rest of the family:
I'm sorry I haven't written sooner but things have been strange where I
am, very strange. I am well and have been accepted with a well known
group here in Jurgensville called the 'Truth Seekers'. Priestess Diana, a
most gracious lady, has taken me under her wing so to speak and is helping
me adjust to the traveling life. The Truth Seekers are a mixed group of
warriors, clerics, mages and such all taller than myself..as it is at
home, giggle. There are two dwarves with us so I don't have to look at
knobby knees all the time. Anyway, at first it was a bitch to get used to
traveling but now I am adjusting well. I won't be able to send word too
often as the 'Seekers' travel long and far from easy means of
communications. You may send word of your doings and things in the city
to the Tymora Temple here in Jurgensville or to the Truth Seekers
compound.
I certainly missed celebrating my natal day on the 3rd day of Kythorn,
midmonth. No one here knew about it. Smoke a pipe and bake a honey cake
for me anyway. I know the young'ns would enjoy it!
Da, remember going to the taverns and inns to listen to the various big
folk tell tales of their adventures? Recall how we laughed at some of the
obserd things they told? I'm not laughing now. Believe your daughter
when she says..they were the truth! I have seen more strange creatures down under the local mountain than ever we heard over a mug of cider!
Enclosed you will find a little token to help the family. I will send
more when I can.
Tymora bless you all, much love your adventurous daughter,
Amber Rose
PS: Mother, all that carving knowledge is coming in handy as you
predicted. It is something to fall back on in hard times. Believe me a
drawing or word description of something doesn't have half the impact as a
good wood carving."
