"Silence Object" spell
Ari developed this spell after hearing Beleg rattle along in his armor as the party tried to quietly move through different locations. Once they got into the Underdark the noise from armor became even more noticeable, so when she got the chance she came up with this spell.
Silence Object
2nd level Cleric Spell
Sphere: Guardian
Range: Touch
Components: V,S
Duration: 1 hour/level
Casting Time: 5
Area of Effect:
Object Saving Throw: None
Casting this spell silences the object it is cast upon. The spell can not be cast upon a living or sentient being. Unlike the Silence 15' Radius spell, the Silence Object spell does not create an area of silence. If cast upon an object to be worn, the silence does not interfere with the casting of spells, nor does it interfere with any enchantments already bestowed upon the object.
The largest object this spell has successfully been cast on is a suit of plate armor. Note that the object itself is silent, but that objects it interacts with in the environment will still make noise. For example, if a warrior with a suit of silenced plate mail walked across a wooden floor his armor would make no noise, but the floor would still squeak.
